Fall really decorates itself, anyway. The trees are gorgeous. Pumpkins are gorgeous. When left unraked [like mine] yards turn into a kaleidoscope of autumn colors. Therefore, my fall decorating most often consists of bringing real nature into my home and then just getting out of its way. It doesn't need me. It's beautiful all by itself. And then... at the end of fall... it all goes back into the yard. No plastic bins.
This is a great idea from Better Homes & Gardens! I can't wait to try it.

These can be purchased from Pottery Barn, but I would just paint real ones! Gorgeous.

This room from Censational Girl really is censational! What a great example of using just a few natural elements to create a really big impact.
This fireplace is so much fun. I love this idea and want to give it a try this fall.
Here's a simple yet stunning foyer from Inspired Design.
And here is another simple idea that incorporates completely natural elements. I would gather colorful leaves and acorns [since they are free!] to put inside instead, though!
This centerpiece from Bella Maison is as simple as it gets. It's a great example of bringing in nature and letting it shine... no glitter or glue necessary :)
I found all of this great eye candy from Pinterest! There are two photos that did not have good links, so if you know where they belong please let me know and I'll link them asap! Thanks, and happy fall decorating!

I wonder if you could use patterned tights rather than lace fabric. . . If I give it a try, I'll report back!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, you are so so right about hauling the bins back and forth, and putting away my regular decor. as much as i do it for the winter holidays, this to me, is the most wonderful time of the year. i'll make as many trips as it takes to put out all my fall stuff! however begrudginly. ;)
